ASK THE ANuU EXPERT
I've always heard that the sun's rays aren't as strong in the wintertime, so why do I need to wear sunscreen?
It's a myth that sun exposure isn't as dangerous in the wintertime. You can get as much of a sunburn, if not more, in the colder months. One reason is that snow and ice are as powerful reflectors of the sun as water and sand are. And even if you live in an area where it doesn't snow, the chronic low-dose sun exposure you get in the winter months can still increase your risk for developing skin cancer as well as cause age spots and wrinkles. So it is important to wear sunscreen all year round. Use a product with an SPF of least 15, and be sure to apply it to all exposed areas, including the tops of the ears, the tip of the nose, the chin and the hands.
We can provide you with all your year round skincare needs.
